Step 1: How to generate keys and the certificate request?

Prior to issuing a certificate you must generate keys and the certificate request. The qualified certificate will be issued using the certificate request.

Recommendation: After the key and certificate request generation we recommend you have the certificate issued and install it as soon as possible.

PostSignum QCA offers these options of the key and certificate request generation:

On-line generation through the web pages

Users using the Windows operating system and the Internet Explorer web browser can choose the key generation using the web pages of PostSignum QCA.
Generated keys are stored in the profile of the currently logged user in Windows and the certificate request is stored in the file.

Recommendation: In the wizard the procedure of check-ups and backup of the generated keys in Windows is described. If you follow it, you lower the risk of unsuccessful installation of the issued certificate.
